HEY, HEY GLENWOODIANS! A little bit about Miss Hong, maybe you never knew...
Ever since I was young, my parents have told me I've always been "Loud and Proud" - I grew up in Reading, PA and worked in my parents Chinese Restaurant for most of my childhood. Their restaurant doubled as my piano, clarinet, and saxophone practice studio: serenading restaurant guests, as well as hostessing, and waitressing!
In addition to my family's business, I was involved in all things band, orchestra, and chorus in and outside of school, as well as Track and Field, Cross Country, Swimming, Soccer, and Water Polo. After graduating high school, I studied music at The Pennsylvania State University and marched with the Penn State Blue Band. I even got to do a Fashion Show! ...in my Band Uniform :) After PSU, I took classes at Kutztown University earning my B.S. in Music Education. Rounding out my education thus far, in addition to extra music and non-music classes at Marywood University, I completed my M.M. in Music Education at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
My personal life: I have 1 kid, Remy - she has long red ears, the softest tail, an always too wet chocolate chip nose, and turns 5 in May! She is 75 lbs of beying redbone coonhound and loves to play, so if you ever see her, tire her out (please!). I love being outside, hiking, camping, and exploring. One of my favorite things to do is test out new foods and find little town treasured 'mom and pop' shops. I also enjoy antique shopping, bright colors, and shoes.
