I am so excited to start my second year as a 4th grade teacher here at Indian Lane. I was fortunate enough to serve as the math interventionist in 2019 and instantly fell in love with this very special place. I cannot wait to return to school to see the smiling faces of the amazing students and staff at Indian Lane!
A little about me...
In 2004, I received my teaching degrees from Temple University in elementary and special education. Upon my graduation, I was lucky to find a position in the Neshaminy School District teaching special education at the middle school level. During that time, I went back to school and received my masters degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis ad Autism Studies, a degree that has served me well in the classroom.
A few years ago I made the difficult decision to leave that position and stay at home with my two young children. During that break, I took trainings to become a certified children's yoga and mindfulness instructor. That experience is something I am excited to bring into the classroom!
I missed being in the classroom each and every day of my absence. I was fortunate to transition back into education as the math interventionist last year. I feel so lucky that it has led me to becoming a 4th grade teacher at ILE this year.
I live in Glen Mills with my husband, two children (Dylan, 10 and Mackenzie, 8), our cat (Whiskers), Labradoodle (Potter), and as of a week ago, our baby Sheepadoodle (Hazel). I enjoy running, practicing yoga, reading, and coaching my daughter in softball and basketball. I am also a passionate volunteer and love getting little ones involved in the volunteer world.
I can't wait to see everyone, it's going to be an amazing school year in room 254!
