Rose Tree Elementary School, a 2011 National Blue Ribbon School, is located in a residential neighborhood in Upper Providence Township. Enrollment is approximately 400 students.

Rose Tree Elementary School’s goal is to ensure that all students are academically successful by providing students with the skills necessary to master a rigorous curriculum and become productive, positive citizens in a global workforce.  School programs are designed to accommodate students of all ability levels in kindergarten through fifth grade.

The basic curriculum at Rose Tree Elementary includes instruction in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, art, library science, general music and physical education. Children have the opportunity to participate in chorus and instrumental music instruction beginning in grade four. Special education classes for students diagnosed with specific learning disabilities are provided.  In addition, a full array of supports is provided for students based upon specific needs.

Technology forms an integral part of classroom instruction.  Children in all grades have access to computers and iPads. Students are provided with many opportunities to utilize software programs for reinforcement and review of instruction.

Enrichment and independent study options beyond the basic curriculum are available to students through the school district's Academically Gifted Program (AGP).  An Accelerated Math Program is offered to students in fourth and fifth grade who meet the criteria for this challenging program.

Kindergarten students are required to be five years old before September 1 of the year they begin school. The morning kindergarten session runs from 9:00 a.m. to 11:40 a.m., while the afternoon session runs from 12:50 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Kindergarten students are required to have a physical that may be administered by a family physician.  Dental exams are required when children enter kindergarten and third grade.

Parent/teacher conferences are scheduled in November and March.  Progress reports are issued in November, March and June for students in grades K - 5.

Parents are invited to meet their child's teachers at Rose Tree's annual Back-to-School Night in the fall.  Also, parents are encouraged to become involved in the Rose Tree Elementary School Parent Teacher Group (PTG).
