I have been the teacher librarian at Indian Lane for the past twelve school years. Prior to this position, I taught special education for ten years. I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana and spend quite a bit of time there on school breaks and during the summer. I graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.S in Elementary Education. Then, I earned a M.Ed. from Temple University in Special Education. While at Temple, I earned the distinct honor of Temple University's Student Teacher of the Year.
In the Indian Lane Library, I work to promote a love of reading, learning, problem solving, creativity, and critical thinking in all students. Some highlights of the library programming are research skills using print and online resources, coding skills through Hour of Code, and an appreciation of story elements and literature. Special events include Scholastic book fairs, Battle of the Books, Poem In Your Pocket at the businesses in Media/Middletown, Poetry Cafe, and Indian Lane Nights at Middletown Free Library.
I live in Ardmore, PA. My husband, Eric, and I have three sons - Owen (16), Carter (15), and Blake (13).
